The clear desert sky and hills of her native Nevada form the backdrop for this photo of the artist, taken in 2002. She was sixty-eight. Patricia was the eldest of three sisters, grew up, married, and had eight children by the age of twenty-seven. In spite of little time for herself, she managed to squeeze in an art class here, and a painting or sketch there. In 1967 she moved the family to California, and her husband, Ralph, went to Vietnam. Divorce was on the horizon, but so was a lifelong dream of continuing her education. With great pride, Patricia achieved her Bachelor's degree in journalism, graduating from University of California Berkeley. She continued to raise her family in California, wrote, taught writing, and eventually settled back down in Nevada. She set up a studio and began painting regularly. She became quite prolific, sometimes creating three to four pieces per day. Her work continued a few years beyond 2014, when she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Syndrome.
Our original purpose for this site is to organize, and showcase Patricia's work, for her to enjoy, and share, especially with her family.
Sufficient demand has developed, so we will be upgraded to a selling site, as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.
A book containing selected works was recently developed and named to celebrate the start of Patricia's most prolific period, and one of her favorite pieces named GEODE. Inspired by beautiful slices of agate rock that have been heated and dyed all colors.
